ALBERTA VITA

I received my Masters in Art and Design at the P.Selvatico Art Institute in Padova, Italy having studied “Metals and Goldsmithing”. After graduation I also taught at this world-known school. Since 1970 I have expanded my personal style into contemporary jewelry. In 1994 I opened “Vita Studio” which hosts and promotes contemporary jewelry through research and major events.
I was a dominant part in both public and private exhibitions and fairs in Italy and abroad. My work has been shown in museums and galleries in many countries in Europe (Paris Barcelona, Munich, among others), the US and Australia.
My mentors were: Mario Pinton (goldsmithing headmaster at Selvatico Institute), Francesco Pavan (goldsmithing) Gian Paolo Babetto (goldsmithing) etc., all famous worldly for their research and creations.
Their teaching have made a long lasting change in contemporary goldsmithing in Italy.
My own personal style comes from basic geometrical forms and my love for stones. My stones are not set but free to move around in gold or silver cups. They are unrestrained to reflect their light, creating the emotion of excitement when they move freely. These pieces are no longer classic, but dynamic.
